Rates
On-Contract Hourly Rate
$100/hour (3-to-6 Month Engagements)
Off-Contract Hourly Rate
$125/hour (Ad Hoc, Month-to-Month)
Clients under an active agreement receive discounted hourly rates and prioritized scheduling. Clients requesting one-off work are billed at the off-contract rate.
On-Contract Services
Contract Structure (Up to Six Months)
Most long-term engagements use two agreements:
- Developer Services Agreement — defines the legal framework, communication, ownership, billing, and project policies.
- Statement of Work (SOW) — defines deliverables, estimated hours (LOE), timeline, responsibilities, and budget.
Definitions
LOE (Level of Effort):
Estimated hours allocated toward project tasks
SOW (Scope of Work):
The agreed timeline, deliverables, and responsibilities for the project
These agreements help ensure clarity around communication, ownership, timelines, revisions, and project expectations for both parties.
Typical Services include:
- Custom WordPress Development
- Bespoke Plugin Development
- WooCommerce Integrations
- Forms Integrations
- Membership Portals
- Software Architecture
- REST API Development
- Product Strategy
- Technical Audits
- Performance Optimization
- Website Migrations
- Fractional Technical Leadership

A sample agreement may be provided upon request.
Development SOW Agreement
Each Statement of Work is customized to the project and presented as a proposal outlining the product vision, scope, estimated hours, timeline, budget, projected costs, and approval to begin work.
Projects Requiring Contracts
Smaller engagements may be handled through a simplified proposal and invoice, while larger projects typically require a formal agreement.
However, projects involving:
- New websites
- New applications
- Website redesigns
- Ongoing development support
- Recurring updates or maintenance
- Long-term collaboration
may require a contract agreement, especially for engagements set to last up to six months.
Subscription Services
Once a project has stabilized and transitions into ongoing maintenance or iterative development, clients may retain on-contract rates through a recurring monthly subscription.
Subscription terms are typically offered as:
- Up to 6 months for active development
- Up to 12 months for maintenance retainers
Subscription plans are customized based on client needs and may include services such as:
- WordPress plugin updates
- Website oversight and maintenance
- Monthly strategy check-ins
- Technical consulting
- Website improvements and optimization
- Priority support for urgent requests
Maintenance plans begin at $25/month for very small websites requiring basic plugin oversight, with custom plans available for organizations requiring ongoing consulting, development, or technical leadership.
For clients who schedule recurring check-ins (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), meetings are typically held on a consistent day and time to maintain continuity and momentum between sessions.
Subscription availability is intentionally limited so I can provide consistent support to existing clients.
If you’re planning a new website, modernizing an existing platform, or looking for an experienced long-term technical partner, I’d be happy to discuss your project. Reach out to schedule an introductory consultation. You may email me a short project summary and I’ll send over my booking link.
Off-Contract Services
For clients not currently under contract, I offer consultations and short-term support on a case-by-case basis.
This often includes:
- Introductory consultations
- Technical planning sessions
- Fractional CTO support
- Workshops
- Small fixes or patches
- Emergency support requests
- Short-term project assistance
I typically offer a free 15-minute consultation for prospective clients when availability allows.
Off-contract work is best suited for projects with a clearly defined beginning and end, generally lasting no longer than one month.
These rates also apply to former contract clients who may occasionally need quick support or maintenance assistance outside of an active agreement.
Because ad hoc requests require unplanned availability and context switching, off-contract work is billed at a higher hourly rate.
